He Co-Leads the SickKids Precision Child Health initiative, co-directs the SickKids Cancer Sequencing program and is Director of the pan-Canadian PROFYLE initiative.

David’s research focuses on genetic mechanisms of childhood cancer susceptibility and addresses the application of genomics to early detection and treatment approaches for children and adults at genetic ‘high risk’ for cancer.

He has published over 300 peer-reviewed manuscripts and received numerous national and international awards recognizing his clinical, research and mentorship work including a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Community Award, and elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the American Association of Cancer Research.
