Persons With Lived Experience Network
ACCESS recognizes the importance of including the diverse perspectives and insights of people who have been directly affected by childhood cancer to drive meaningful improvements through research, policies, practices, and programs at all levels of ACCESS. A total of 68 PWLE members are currently engaged in the ACCESS network from across Canada.
The Persons With Lived Experience (PWLE) Network aims to:

- Create a safe, social space for all PWLE
- Foster collaboration and apply the unique insights and experiences of individuals of patients, families, and caregivers affected by childhood cancer
- Provide advocacy development and learning opportunities
- Maintain ongoing communication between PWLE and ACCESS
ACCESS welcomes any Persons With Lived Experience of childhood cancer who is interested in contributing to the work of the network. There is no minimum level of education, and you do not need experience in advocacy or research.

At ACCESS, we believe continuous education and training are critical to support the PWLE Network aims and enable PWLE to stay well-informed and actively advocate for children with pediatric cancer.
ACCESS’ Persons With Lived Experience Subsidy offers financial support to help offset the costs to attend workshops and conferences for PWLE and to enable participation and learning in areas related to childhood cancer. To date, 23 PWLE have been granted subsidy via this program.
