La protonth\u00e9rapie offre un effet th\u00e9rapeutique am\u00e9lior\u00e9 par rapport \u00e0 la radioth\u00e9rapie par faisceaux de protons conventionnelle, car elle permet un contr\u00f4le pr\u00e9cis des doses, ce qui peut r\u00e9duire les effets secondaires \u00e0 long terme associ\u00e9s \u00e0 la radiation. Cependant, \u00e0 l\u2019heure actuelle, le Canada ne dispose pas de l\u2019infrastructure n\u00e9cessaire pour fournir la protonth\u00e9rapie. Par cons\u00e9quent, les patients sont envoy\u00e9s aux \u00c9tats-Unis pour ce traitement, ce qui limite l\u2019ACCES \u00e9quitable.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 l\u2019heure actuelle, il n\u2019y a pas de syst\u00e8me en place pour documenter le nombre et les donn\u00e9es d\u00e9mographiques des patients qui sont aiguill\u00e9s vers la protonth\u00e9rapie ou qui la re\u00e7oivent. En outre, les r\u00e9sultats cliniques pour les patients qui re\u00e7oivent la protonth\u00e9rapie ou la radioth\u00e9rapie par faisceaux de protons sont inconnus. <\/p>\n<p>Le Canada se joint au Proton\/Photon Consortium Registry international prospectif.
